Apple has officially announced iOS 27, its latest mobile operating system, which emphasizes performance enhancements and stability improvements rather than radical design changes. The company confirmed that a wide range of iPhones will receive the update, including all models from the iPhone 11 onwards. This broad compatibility means the iPhone 11, released in 2019, will continue to receive software support for its eighth year.
The new OS supports 30 iPhone models in total, encompassing devices like the iPhone SE (2nd Gen) up to the iPhone 17e series. While the public release is slated for September, a developer build is already available. Key features include advancements in Siri AI, powered by 'Apple Intelligence,' though the most advanced AI processing will be exclusive to iPhone 17 and iPhone Air models. Even without the top-tier AI, users with iPhone 15 Pro and newer will experience a significantly smarter Siri, alongside general performance and privacy boosts across all eligible devices.
