The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has officially confirmed that there are no reported cases of Ebola within the country. This assurance comes in response to international reports involving a traveler who had visited the UAE before being diagnosed with the virus in Uganda.
MoHAP stated that the individual did not seek medical care in the UAE, and national health authorities immediately activated preparedness protocols, including risk assessment and contact tracing, in line with international standards. The World Health Organization (WHO) praised the cooperation between UAE and Ugandan authorities in managing the situation.
While the outbreak remains concentrated in the DRC and Uganda, the UAE has issued a travel advisory, urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel to these regions due to the ongoing health risks associated with the Bundibugyo Ebolavirus strain.
