The OIKWAN SFF-8087 to 4 SATA forward breakout cable provides a highly reliable internal data connection, bridging the gap between host RAID controllers and individual SATA drives. Engineered for demanding storage environments, this cable features a robust 36-pin Mini SAS connector on the host end and splits into four separate 7-pin SATA target connectors. Structurally, the cable is wrapped in acetate cloth tape over ultra-slim ribbon conductors to prevent wear without introducing unnecessary rigidity, while a high-quality woven mesh sheath covers the lower half to ensure easier routing in tight systems.
From a performance standpoint, this cable excels in unlocking multi-lane hardware RAID arrays and high-speed storage configurations. It supports data transfer rates of up to 6Gbps per drive, making it fully compatible with SATA III standards. Systems utilizing host bus adapters or controllers like the PERC H310 can seamlessly span RAID arrays across multiple drives over dual PCIe lanes. The slimline profile of the individual ribbons minimizes airflow obstruction inside computer and server cases, keeping system temperatures lower during heavy, continuous write and read operations.
Practicality is integrated into every aspect of this cable design to satisfy both DIY builders and professional IT installers. Each SATA connector is individually labeled with P1 to P4 markers, streamlining port identification and troubleshooting after the cable harness is routed. Additionally, the low-profile SATA connectors are equipped with stainless steel latches to secure the connections against vibration and accidental pull-out, offering peace of mind in high-density rackmount chassis or active workstations.
