Tiny New Octopus Species Found Near Galápagos
A remarkable discovery has been made in the deep waters near the Galápagos Islands, where marine biologists have identified a new species of octopus. This miniature cephalopod, small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, was first observed by researchers from the E/V Nautilus during a 2015 expedition. The octopus, noted for its striking blue color, was found at a depth of approximately 5,800 feet.

Scientists are calling it a significant find, emphasizing how much of the deep ocean remains unexplored and the potential for further discoveries.
