Rayon threads are prized for their high sheen and silky texture, offering a luxurious appearance, but may be less resistant to abrasion than polyester. Polyester threads, conversely, provide superior strength, colorfastness, and resistance to bleach, making them ideal for items requiring frequent washing or exposure to harsh conditions. Metallic threads introduce a reflective quality, while cotton and silk threads offer natural textures and matte finishes.
