NFL Veteran Mike Pennel Named Person of Interest in Dominican Republic Homicide Case

Table of Contents

Veteran NFL player Michael Pennel Jr. has reportedly been named a person of interest in the homicide investigation of Carli Franchesca Guzman Roche in the Dominican Republic. Roche's remains were discovered earlier this year on a property formerly owned by Pennel, a two-time Super Bowl winner who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, among other teams.

Roche had been missing since September 2021, and her body was found in January during excavation work on the property in Sosúa. Pennel, who sold the property last year, has strongly denied any involvement, calling the reports "fake news" and stating he is not legally involved. His career has included multiple NFL suspensions and a previous lawsuit related to a business venture in the Dominican Republic.
