Delhi is set to revolutionize its tourism transport with the 'e-Bike Didi Yojana,' a unique initiative providing women-only electric bike taxis operated by women. This program aims to ensure safe, affordable, and eco-friendly last-mile connectivity for female tourists and locals around major attractions like the Red Fort and Qutub Minar.
Eligible women aged 18-40 will undergo specialized training to operate e-bikes, offering a cleaner alternative to traditional transport and reducing pollution. The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation will oversee the phased rollout, starting with select sites. [IMAGE_1]
This scheme not only enhances the visitor experience and tackles last-mile connectivity gaps but also empowers women by creating new livelihood opportunities in the traditionally male-dominated transport sector, aligning with Delhi's goal to be a sustainable global cultural hub.
