Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a vast array of development projects in Sikkim, collectively valued at over ₹4,000 crore. These initiatives, launched during the closing ceremony of Sikkim's 50th Year of Statehood celebrations in Gangtok, are designed to accelerate holistic and inclusive growth across the state.
The projects span diverse sectors including infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, power, urban development, environment, tourism, and agriculture. Key inaugurations include a 30-bedded Integrated Sowa Rigpa Hospital, the Permanent campus of Sikkim University, and enhancements to road and bridge networks. Foundation stones were laid for additional hospitals, educational institutions, and urban amenities, signaling a significant commitment to the state's comprehensive development and prosperity.
