Nebraska's official tourism agency, Visit Nebraska, has revealed its lineup of 70 featured destinations for the 2026 'Passport' program. This popular initiative aims to encourage residents and visitors alike to explore the state's diverse attractions, from historical sites to unique local businesses.
The program, running from May 1 to September 30, is divided into ten themed tours, including one celebrating America's 250th birthday. Participants can collect digital or physical stamps via booklets and a smartphone app, earning prizes for their progress. Last year saw over 147,000 digital stamps logged, highlighting the program's significant economic impact on local communities.
Jenn Gjerde, executive director of Visit Nebraska, described the program as a fun way to encourage exploration of one's own backyard and support the small businesses that define the state's character. The initiative also fosters community through online platforms, where travelers share their experiences and tips.
