A major Chinese social media account, @Yebali, which had amassed over 11 million followers and primarily targeted younger audiences, has been permanently banned. The account was found to be forcing underage female live-streamers into dangerous and exploitative stunts, including being submerged in a tank with a crocodile and being forced to hold their breath underwater.
These practices flagrantly violated Chinese law, which prohibits minors from participating in live-streaming activities. The account's five-year operation came to an end following significant public exposure and regulatory intervention. This incident highlights serious concerns about content moderation on social media platforms and the protection of children online, prompting a stricter approach to platform accountability.
