Three Chinese nationals have been sentenced to prison in Singapore for orchestrating a series of burglaries, motivated by videos they observed on social media platforms. The men, identified as Yang Chao, He Jiao, and Zhou Qifa, made multiple trips from Malaysia to Singapore with the intent to break into homes and steal valuables.
Yang and He received sentences of five years and three months, while Zhou was sentenced to five years and five months. Their methods involved targeting vulnerable properties and avoiding detection. Authorities are still seeking two other individuals allegedly involved in the criminal ring. This case underscores concerns about the influence of online content on criminal behavior and highlights the importance of cross-border law enforcement cooperation.
