The Kairos EV represents a bold step in personal transportation, aiming to merge the dynamic experience of motorcycling with enhanced safety protocols. This electric trike features a unique leaning mechanism, allowing its rear wheels to tilt into turns, mimicking the agility of a traditional motorcycle.
Central to its design are two patented innovations: the Programmed Restraint Device (PRD) for frontal impact protection and Mobile Lateral Elements (MLEs) that aid in stability and energy absorption during turns and crashes. While still in the prototype phase, the Kairos EV targets a substantial electric range and performance, with plans for commercialization potentially by 2029-2030. The project also seeks to license its safety technologies to other manufacturers, aiming to broadly improve safety in the electric two-wheeler market.
