The Indian government, through the DPIIT's 109th Network Planning Group (NPG) meeting, has assessed several critical infrastructure projects aligned with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan. These initiatives aim to significantly enhance national logistics efficiency and reduce travel times.
Key projects reviewed include a third railway line between Jalandhar Cantt and Jammu Tawi, crucial for national security and economic trade, and another third line between Manikpur and Itarsi to augment capacity in central India. Additionally, the development of a Greenfield Airport at Doloo, Silchar, Assam, is set to boost regional socio-economic progress, while an extension of the Surat Metro Corridor II will improve urban mobility and integration with the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail.
These evaluations underscore a strategic focus on integrated multimodal connectivity, promising substantial socio-economic benefits and reinforcing India's infrastructure development goals.
